Alabama State University graduate Vladimir Averett opened Heritage Barber Shop at 1334 Carter Hill Road across from ASU nearly 20 years ago with a goal in mind. He now owns the Heritage Complex shopping strip, and other ASU graduates have opened businesses there, including Stingers Café, Diva’s Hair Salon and Evening Out Formal Wear.
