HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – Automaker Mazda Motor Corp. today unveiled its brand-new CX-50 with a virtual world premier for the crossover vehicle that will be produced at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) assembly plant in Alabama beginning in January 2022.
The CX-50 will join the Toyota Corolla Cross, also an all-new model, on the production lineup at the $2.3 billion MTM facility in Huntsville. Production of the Corolla Cross began in September.
“The wait is over for us, as Mazda’s global reveal introduced the world to the CX-50,” said Mark Brazeal, MTM’s vice president of administration.
“It is an exciting time to be a part of the MTM team and building two brand new SUVs right here in North Alabama.”
