The Made in DeKalb initiative was established in 2012 for the three-fold purpose of: 1) Recognizing all the great products that are made in DeKalb County, 2) Connecting DeKalb County companies for the purpose of establishing new business-to-business relationships, and 3) Promoting manufacturing and careers in manufacturing to the public, including high school students.

The annual Made in DeKalb Expo is an opportunity for local companies to: 1) Showcase items they produce, 2) Network with other local companies, 3) Inform the public about what their company does, and 4) Promote manufacturing and encourage students to seek careers in manufacturing.

Approximately 1,500 freshmen and seniors from DeKalb County and Fort Payne High Schools are expected to attend, and the Expo will be open to the public from 2pm until 7pm.  In addition, students competing in the BEST Robotics competition will be practicing with their robots throughout the day.
