FMS & CENTCOM: Enabling More Responsive Industry Participation in Security Assistance
Join the North Alabama International Trade Association (NAITA) and members from the U.S. Army Security Assistance Enterprise as we examine several key areas critical to the successful execution of security assistance programs. Central to this discussion is the role the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC) plays. USASAC implements approved U.S. Army Security Assistance programs, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS) of defense articles and services to eligible foreign governments. The Command manages more than 4,815 FMS cases, valued at over $155 billion amongst 145 countries. USASAC’s role is made more challenging by the rapidly changing international environment, fluctuating resources and by the overall complexity of the Security Assistance community. It requires a whole-of-government approach to building capacities with our partners that support U.S. national interests.
Major General Mark McDonald, Commanding General of USASAC, will provide the keynote address. The program will also include a USASAC regional update on the Central Command (CENTCOM) area of operations, a Washington, DC perspective and a discussion on opportunities for small businesses. The meeting will focus on facilitating interaction between the U.S. Army Security Assistance Enterprise and industry personnel.
