Alabama is among the nation’s 10 best states in business climate and among a survey of corporate site selectors.
That’s according to Site Selection magazine, a publication dealing with economic development.
Alabama placed ninth in the magazine’s 2016 state business climate rankings, and eighth in a survey of corporate site selectors asked to rank states based on their experience locating facilities in them.
The Site Selection criteria includes a number of factors, such as workforce skills, incentives, state and local taxes, transportation infrastructure, land and building prices, workforce development, utilities, higher education resources, permitting and quality of life.
Neighboring Georgia finished atop the business climate rankings, its fourth year at No. 1. In fact, eight of the top 10 states are in the South, with only Ohio and Indiana rounding it out.
