HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – A federal grant writing workshop for small businesses will be available next week at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville.
The Jan. 7 event, hosted by Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA) program Alabama Launchpad, will focus on grants from the National Institutes of Health and take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with check-in beginning at 8:30. The cost is $50 for Alabama participants and $100 for out-of-state attendees.
Alabama Launchpad Director Greg Sheek said the workshop will provide information on federal research and development funds, as well as how to avoid common pitfalls in the grant writing process.
“We want to help more Alabama companies take advantage of the federal SBIR/STTR program that can help drive innovation for small businesses,” Sheek said in a statement. “This workshop offers resources that can help companies with grant writing and getting their products to market.”
The workshop is part of EDPA’s Alabama Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Assistance Program.
HudsonAlpha is located on 600 Genome Way. To register, visit tinyurl.com/l9t2pmq.
