Deadline Approaching for Enrollment in SBA’s Emerging Leaders Program

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The U.S. Small Business Administration Alabama District Office today reminded Birmingham area small business owners/CEOs that the deadline for enrollment in the Emerging Leaders Program is Friday, March 20.

The Emerging Leaders Program is a free course being offered to small business owners/CEOs in low-to-moderate income areas to help them develop a Strategic Growth Action Plan to grow their business. The course if open to the final decision-makers at firms that have at been in business at least three years, have annual revenues of at least $400,000 and have at least one employee.

This program has helped over 2400 businesses since its inception by helping them to add to the skill set they have in order to grow and expand their businesses. The result has been increases in revenues, increases in government contracting and employment. This is the first time the program is being offered in Alabama.

Enrollment in the Emerging Leaders Program can be done on-line at www.sba.gov/emergingleaders and once the enrollment period ends, the business owners who have enrolled will be contacted and interviewed as part of the selection process to fill the 17 available slots with 3 alternates. Business owners not chosen may opt to be added to a waiting list for future classes.
