MOBILE, Alabama – Mobile area residents considering opening a new business could pick up a few tips Nov. 13, courtesy of the Alabama Department of Revenue.
The free New Business Workshop is slated for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the conference room of the Mobile Taxpayer Service Center, located at 955 Downtowner Blvd., and will cover an array of state tax topics, including:
- employer withholding taxes
- state and local sales taxes
- property taxes
- business licensing requirements
An overview of Alabama’s business tax electronic filing programs will also be presented as well as information about Alabama’s ONE SPOT, a free Internet filing and payment portal that allows business taxpayers to file and pay state, county and city sales, use and rental taxes all in one place.
