Business Development Division

The Business Development Division teams with public and private economic development partners across Alabama to position the state as an ideal location for investment and job creation.

The Business Development Division identifies potential corporate investors that will broaden Alabama’s economic base, works to bring in foreign direct investment, expand exports of state-based companies, assist small businesses, and attract film projects.

The Business Development Division and its partners use an integrated teamwork approach to demonstrate to prospects the level of support they can expect with a project in Alabama. The division also works with communities across the state to help them determine how they can become more competitive for new job creation.

The overarching goal of the division is to achieve the objectives of Accelerate Alabama, the strategic economic development growth plan adopted in 2012 and revised in 2017.

In Accelerate Alabama’s first nine years, companies from around the globe announced Alabama economic development projects involving commitments for roughly 155,000 jobs, as well as around $55 billion in capital investment.
