Commerce’s ‘Made in Alabama’ website gets update with new tools

To raise awareness of the many advances taking place across the state, the Alabama Department of Commerce today launched a new version of its “Made in Alabama” website that showcases the state’s contributions to fields such as space exploration, bioscience, advanced manufacturing and mobility technologies.

The updated site’s sleek, clean design is meant to convey the technological sophistication found in Alabama’s leading industries to a national and international audience. The redesign also enhances the site’s effectiveness as a marketing platform for Commerce.

“We want to make sure the world knows about the next-level developments taking place in Alabama and to call attention to the world-class capabilities of our workforce,” Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair said.

“The new ‘Made in Alabama’ site will give us the power to share those messages more effectively than ever before.”

Since debuting in 2013, the “Made in Alabama” site has been a trustworthy source for content on the state’s economic development successes and business advantages. It regularly spotlights cutting-edge technological activities taking place in the state, including 3-D printing, electric vehicle production, digital smart factories and genomic medicine.

As part of the update, the content-rich site now features expanded industry pages that are optimized for digital marketing opportunities while also incorporating the futuristic look of Commerce’s attention-grabbing “Next” campaign.

The site complements Commerce’s “Made in Rural Alabama” and “Export Alabama” online platforms.

All of Commerce’s “Made in Alabama” campaigns are designed and directed by Birmingham-based Big Com.
